A bright and cheerful 19th century hand coiled tazón from the historic city of Valencia on the east coast of the Iberian peninsula. This colorful bowl, decorated all over in swirling foliate panels of cobalt, yellow-gold, green and red, was broken into several pieces. Cherished by some former custodian, it was pieced back together and lovingly mended using the ancient technique of staple repair.
Dimensions: 12.5 inches diameter x 5.5 inches high.
Condition: with multiple period staple repairs.
