A rare early 18th-century Spanish colonial silver 'naveta' with a stylized fence over the stern and a chased lid over the bow. The hull is finely chased and stippled all over. All raised on a baluster form stem and trumpet foot. Mexico. Circa 1725

A naveta is a type of boat shaped vessel, usually made of silver, which held incense granules before they were put into a censer.
Dimensions: 6.5 inches long x 3.5 inches wide x 5 inches high. Weighs 15.14 troy oz.
