Price: $ 4,500.00
This 19th-century Mexican folk retablo represents San Gabriel, arguably one of the rarest subjects ever depicted in ratablo art. Gabriel, one of seven archangels honored in Catholicism, is the patron saint of diplomacy, and angel to all children. He is almost always depicted as he is here, levitating atop a puffy cloud with a white lily his hand raised to heaven and the Holy Trinity above. The overall level of quality is superlative.
Dimensions: 14 inches vertical x 10 inches horizontal.
Condition notes: in overall good, original condition.
