San Francisco de Asis, patron saint of animals, families, fire and for protection against dyeing alone, is depicted in this rare 19th century retablo. He is depicted here with his most identifiable attributes, a crucifix, a skull (his symbol of mortality), and a stork, a reference to his patronage.
