This 19th century hand painted folk retablo represents 'San Camilo de Lelis', often referred to as the 'Red Cross Saint'.
San Camilo is the patron saint of the sick, nurses and dyeing people. In this colorful retablo he ministers to a bedridden invalid at the hour of death while a devilish imp waits for his passing soul before it ascencds to heaven.
Displayed in a handsome hand painted wooden frame.
Dimensions: retablo measures 10 inches x 7 inches. Frame measures 13 inches x 10 inches.
Condition notes: scattered loss and normal wear commensurate with age.
