Early 19th century hand painted settle bench with raised panel skirt, raised panel back, curvilinear arm rests and a hinged lid opening to in seat storage compartment.. Hand made entirely in walnut with original apple green and blue finish. Original, unenhanced, unmolested surface patina. American. Circa 1800.
Please note: we acquired this bench with a seat cushion. We are currently having the cushion recreated and reupholstered in a sturdy white linen fabric stuffed with high quality cotton batting.
