This rich and colorful 19th century Mexican folk retablo represents two themes illustrated together in one painting. The first theme, The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit (represented in the form of a white dove), together symbolize 'The Most Holy Trinity' or 'La Santisima Trinidad'. Others may subscribe to the alternate designation -- 'The Eternal Father' or 'El Padre Eterno', a subject which teaches that God is eternal in that He has always existed and will always exist.
Dimensions: 14 inches vertical x 10 inches horizontal.
Condition: with only minor paint loss. Small puncture for hanging along top edge.
