A rare early 20th century Mexican 'muerte' mask (death mask) from Guerrero - circa 1920's / 1930's. Hand carved and polychrome painted wood mask stitched together with a hand molded leather soccer ball. The jaw is articulated, with a knotted hinge on both sides and a leather strap on the back. Great wear with excellent surface patina throughout.
Dimensions: mask and leather helmet measure 13 inches high together.
Condition: in overall excellent condition.
