A collection of 14 antique West African iron Kissi-Penny currency - circa 1900. Individual currencies bundled and displayed on a high quality custom made stand. Kissi-penny is the name of the iron currency that originated in the Kissi region of Sierra Leon. Kissi-penny range in length from 6 inches to 16 inches and were usually exchanged in bundles of 20. The cost of a goat might command 120 bundles and a bride, easily twice that amount.
Dimensions: overall height on stand is 13.75 inches.
Condition: in overall excellent, original condition -- all with good surface patina.
