This 19th century ex-voto painting, dated March 3, of 1865, is dedicated to Our Lady of Refugio (depicted in upper left). The narrative can be translated as follows:
'A miracle happened in the favor of Jose Guadalupe Jacob, who having cultivated a planting of chile that was diseased, and for which he was losing hope of his crop giving fruit, invoked Nuestra Señora del Refugio resulting that the Chile field leafed out. March 3, 1865'.
Dimensions: 10 inches horizontal x 7 inches vertical.
In excellent, original condition with only minor paint loss.
