This dramatic early 20th century ex-voto painting is dedicated to Our Lady of Talpa, the Virgin shown in upper right. A
lthough we no longer have a written narrative to corroborate the events that took place, the painted portion of this ex-voto tells the entire story -- a man became pinned under the wheel of his horse carriage and his spouse venerated Our Lady of Talpa to intercede. She heard her petition and he was saved. In honor of this miracle this retablo was painting was dedicated in her name. Dated 1910.
Dimensions: 10 inches horizontal x 7 inches vertical.
Condition: in overall excellent, original condition.
