This dramatic 19th century ex-voto painting from Mexico is dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patroness saint of The Americas, shown in upper left. Although much of the text is illegible the petitioner is thankful for a miracle, most likely having survived an inferno.
Hand painted on heavy gauge tin. Circa 1860 - 1880.
Dimensions: 16 inches horizontal x 10 inches vertical.
Condition: paint loss.
