This rare 19th century Mexican folk retablo represents 'El Nino Cautivo', or 'The Captive Child' as he is known in English. El Nino Cautivo is almost always depicted as he is here, with shackles and two fingers pointing to God. The Captive Child is petitioned by those seeking protection from financial troubles, help with drug addiction or alcoholism.
** Attributed to 'Agustin Barajas' - better known as 'The Skimpy Painter'.
Dimensions: 10 inches vertical x 7 inches horizontal.
