A pair of magnificent early 18th century Spanish colonial silver candlesticks, each with elegant baluster form stem and a large node ring drip pan surmounted by a candle socket, all raised on a hand chased footed base. The underside with original cedar fitting, wing nut and carriage bolt. Burilada (assayer's zig-zag mark to test silver purity) and visible owner's mark on drip pan.
Made from Andean mined silver, these candlesticks are surprisingly heavy, weighing 44.83 and 44.85 ozt respectively.
Dimensions: 15.5 inches high. Ring base measures 7.5 inches diameter.
Condition: in excellent, original condition.
