A rare 18th century Spanish colonial silver cup and trivet from Brazil. Hallmark 'SP' for '
São Paulo' together with assayer's mark in the form of a burillada mark (zig-zag lines scratched in the silver to test silver content). The cup with a footed ring base and lobed rim. The trivet with hand chasing and pierced rim, all raised on three feet. Circa 1750 - 1800.
Dimensions: Trivet measures 5.5 inches diameter. Cup measures 4 inches diameter. Overall height is 3 inches.
Weight: Trivet weighs 146.8 gram. Cup weighs 162.6 grams.
Condition: excellent, original.
