A stunning late 17th century Tuscan elm-wood feasting or banquet table. The top, fashioned out of two thick hand adzed elm-wood timbers, are separated by a spline in the middle and capped on both ends in beech-wood with exposed iron nail heads. Raised on shoe feet, the trestle legs are mortised and connected by a thick elm-wood stretcher which is secured by inserting two wooden keys through the tenons on both ends. Original honey amber colored finish with a rich, lustrous surface patina.
Dimensions: 106 inches long x 30 inches high x 30 inches wide. Will seat 8 to 10 comfortably.
Condition notes: In overall good condition. The top with several period inlaid patches. Table is sound and sturdy.
