The idiosyncratic and whimsical design characteristics manifested in this colorful Kazak include fanciful flower blossoms surrounded by archaic symbols of protection, an exuberant spectrum of vegetal sourced colors and bold iconographic borders. The wool foundation is tightly knotted and the supporting wool pile is lustrous with a soft, supple handle. Circa 1880 - 1900.
