A pair of large and impressive architecturally salvaged recumbent camels. Cast concrete, fortified steel rebar, polychromy. North Africa. Circa 1940.
Dimensions:
Depth: 38 inches from wall to nose
Height: 40 inches
Width: 10.5 inches.
** Displaying these massive beasts of burden requires more than sheet rock screws and wall anchors. A local welding and sheet steel engineering company fabricated a concealed load bearing display using a thick reinforced steel pin welded to a steel back plate. The pin is inserted into an existing cavity in the concrete and the welded plate is screwed into a plywood frame fastened to wall studs.
