This late 19th century ex-voto painting, dedicated to 'El Nino Dios', is dated February 20 of 1897. Apparently, infant Alberto Ramos swallowed a needle and it became lodged in his throat. The written testimonial translates as follows:
Alberto Ramos, 14 months old, had the misfortune of having a needle, which he put in his mouth, get caught in his throat. The distraught mother prayed with so much fervor to the Baby Jesus that the child instantly coughed it up. To show gratitude I present this retablo on February 20, 1897.
