This colorful 19th century oil on tin ex-voto painting is dedicated to 'Our Lady of the Sacred Cave', shown in upper left. According to the narrative, Clemente Almeguer was seriously injured and he dedicated this ex-voto for having been cured. The text can be loosely translated as follows:
'On the 11th of December, in the year of 1877, it happened to Clemente Almeguer the disgrace of having been seriously injured, having been in this conflict. He invoked with all of his heart the Virgin of the Cave, and having been cured, this retablo was presented.'
Dimensions: 10 inches horizontal x 7 inches vertical.
Condition: in overall excellent, original condition with only minor paint loss. Unrestored.
