This early 20th century Berber frame from Morocco is a ceremonial camel carriage that has been repurposed as a modern table. In its former incarnation as a camel carriage, this apparatus would have been adorned with colorful trappings - perhaps used in a festival or wedding ceremony. The slatted legs are hand carved -- connected by cross stretchers and bound by leather rope and animal hide. The beveled glass top provides support and rigidity, making this both a conversation piece and a practical piece of furniture.
Dimensions: 71 inches long x 30 inches deep x 32 inches high.
Condition: excellent.
