Exceptionally fine and rare 18th century Spanish colonial oil on heavy gauge copper - San Miguel Archangel, patron saint of warriors and soldiers. Saint Michael, leader of the forces of heaven in the triumph over the forces of evil, is usually depicted as he is here, as a winged archangel in battle attire.
